Ridgewell Erratic boulders

North of the village near the road junction at Bowles Farm are two glacial erratic boulders hidden in the grass by the post box. They are of great interest because of the rock types.

One is a 60 centimetre (2 foot) long angular boulder of fine-grained basalt and the other is a rounded boulder of a coarse-grained igneous rock of similar size that may be syenite.
