Species text
The species is widespread in much of northern and western Britain, with coastal records in south-eastern England. Although this species is locally common in the north, it is scarce in the south. The spider is found in wet habitats, swampy areas, saltmarshes, and high ground (Harvey et al. 2002). In Essex the species is rare and seems to be confined to saltmarsh and tidal habitat. References
