Most records of Bianor aurocinctus are from the south-eastern part of England, and the spider is most frequent in Britain in the East Thames Corridor (Harvey et al., 2002). It is found on dry sparsely vegetated ground in a variety of habitats, but almost always among short vegetation or in stony areas. It has occasionally been swept from taller herbage and even borrowdykes near the coast or found in litter at the base of taller vegetation, but in general these occurrences have been close to bare or sparsely vegetated ground.
