Species text
This metallic green fly has been mainly recorded from southern England, especially the New Forest, but also from East Lothian (Aberlady). Although RDB3 in Shirt (1987) and Falk (1991) Falk & Crossley (2005) exclude the species on the basis of its occurrence in 10 counties. The larvae probably develop in damp substrates at the edge of water. Adults have been found in fens and wet meadows. The identification is provisional. References
