Species text
Mimesa lutaria is widely distributed in south-eastern England, but in Essex it has occurred only at the West Thurrock lagoons and the now destroyed nearby Mill Wood Pit. It burrows in sand and preys on Homoptera (Cicadellidae, nearly all Jassinae) (Richards, 1980). References
