The species is recorded from southern Britain, particularly the south-east. It is recorded from a number of habitats, and is particularly associated with Black Horehound Ballota nigra, but there may be other hosts. The habitats seem to have in common the presence of quite densely tufted plants growing on partly bare ground or covered in thin leaf litter (Kirby, 1992). References
