Species text
This mining bee has only been recorded in modern times from three other locations in Essex. The autecology of the species and the reasons for its rarity in the county are not understood, although it is generally infrequently found in Britain. It appears well established at the Orsett site, being recorded by EECOS (2003) and at three separate parts of the sand pit in 2008. References
