annual exhibition and social

Exhibition and Social Meeting, Saturday 1st December 2012, 2:30 - 5pm

Do come to this event, the biggest meeting of the year for the Essex Field Club! Put the date in your diary now!

It is a great opportunity to see what the members and groups have been up to, what nearby related societies and clubs are doing, and to meet friends, old and new. If you are one of the many people who only know a few other members, here is your chance to meet lots more. Bring your own friends too; everyone is welcome whether members or not. There is food and drink, including wine, to help the afternoon along. Most of the Club’s Recorders will be present, and other experts, so if you have bits and pieces that you would like identified, do bring them along. And it is all free!

The venue will be in the Carstairs Room (I-lab) at the Green Centre, at Wat Tyler Country Park, near Basildon, details below.  The exhibits will mostly be on circular tables, a semicircle each. There is scope for short films or videos from your laptop or a memory stick in the space outside, on large screens.  We hope for many more people from the local area, whether members or guests, as well as those from further away.  But it will be free as usual, including refreshments with finger buffet, and free tables for exhibitors.  Members will be able to collect their new Essex Naturalist and save us money on postage.

If you would like to book half a table for your display or exhibit, please contact Ken Adams on 0208 508 7863 or ken.adams@virgin.net. and certainly by 19 November. Essex or nearby county or local organisations or clubs involved with any of wildlife, ecology, wild habitats, landscape, geology are especially invited, but also individuals who have something to show. Maybe you could team up with a friend and put on an exhibit. Many of the Club’s Recorders and other experts will be present. Bring an item that puzzles you, and someone will identify it for you.

Maybe you could set up a table display or similar, along with a friend or on your own, about an aspect of natural history that interests you particularly.  If you want to book a table for your exhibit(s), please book with Ken Adams on 0208 508 7863 or email: .
