19,
From here the walk was uneventful apart
from hearing a Green Woodpecker yaffling and
seeing Greenfinches and Goldfinches feeding on
the ubiquitous thistles which were in seed. I
walked back to Buckhurst Hill across Chingford
and Whitehall Plains and on the latter found a
few clumps of Spiny Rest Harrow and watched a
Kestrel hover.
The afternoon had turned out to be quite
interesting with a new butterfly added to my
Epping Forest list highlighting the variety
of wildlife (perhaps aided and abetted by the
weather) still t o be found in the Forest.
