Website forms and recording The Wasp Spider Argiope bruennichi is the next most successful, with 60 British records submitted so far this year as well as ones from Guernsey, France, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Greece and the USA. They are mostly from existing centres of population, but l have also had especially useful ones from people in the Colchester area and Suffolk supported by enough information or a photo to confirm the observation. An indication of the spread of this species, which was first recorded in Essex in 1997, and the success of the website forms is provided by Figures 2-4. Fig. 2.
