Bembidion (Actedium) pallidipenne (Illiger) Nb Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 28.vi. numerous on bare,sandy mud by lagoons. First post 1949 Essex record according to Hammond (2000). Platyderus ruficollis (Marsham) Nb Thorpe-le-Soken, Thorpe Hall, garden (TM1821) 5.vii., under log. Dytiscidae Agabus conspersus (Marsham) Nb Colchester, Hythe Lagoons (TM0223) 19.v, netted under floating wood. Hydrophilidae Helochares lividus (Forster) Nb Thorpe-le-Soken gravel pits (TM1821)18.iv, netted in flooded pit. Buprestidae Agrilus laticornis Nb Thorpe Hall (TM 1821) 5.vii., on foliage beneath Quercus robur; Gravel Wood Tendring (TM1625) 26.vii, on dead Quercus robur bough. Cantharidae Malthinus balteatus Suffrian Nb Thorpe-le-Soken (TM 1722) 19.vii, under Quercus robur in garden. Melyridae Dolichosoma lineare (Rossi) Nb Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 28.vi, swept amongst Elymus pyenathus. Nitidulidae Cryptarcha strigata (Fabricius) Thorpe Hall (TM1821) 5.vii, in sap on veteran Quercus robur Tenebrionidae Cylindronotus pallidus (Curtis) TM2624 Nb Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 12.xii, several freshly drowned in discarded plastic containers on the strandlinc.
