First post 1949 Essex record and new to V.C. 19, according to Hammond (2000). Cerambycidae Phytoecia cylindrica (Linnaeus) Nb Old Hall Marshes (TL9612) 30.v, swept on sea wall (with N.Cuming). Chrysomelidae Cassida nobilis Linnaeus St. Osyth, Colne Point (TM1012) 24.ix, several resting under driftwood on upper shore. Curculionidae Cleonis pigra (Scopoli) Nb Little Oakley, Irlam's Beach (TM2327) 27.vii, several on bare sand ; Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 25.ix., under driftwood. Pselactus spadix (Herbst) St.Osyth, Colne Point (TM1012) 24.9.03 several under driftwood. Notaris scirpi (Fabricius) Nb Colchester, Cowdray Marsh (TM0025) 3.vi., by sweeping marshland vegetation. Sibinia arenariae Stephens Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 25.ix,, swept from Spergularia by lagoon. Mecinus collaris Germar Walton-on-the-Naze (TM2624) 25.ix., in galls on Plantago maritima inflorescences. First post 1969 Essex record, according to Hammond (2000).
