Species text
The tumbling flower beetle Mordellistena pseudopumila was formerly confused under Mordellistena pumila. At the time of Hyman & Parsons (1992) it had been recently added to the British list and had been recorded from a chalk downland site in Berkshire, and two fen sites in Norfolk. Peter Hammond has identified the species from material collected by P.R. Harvey at five sites in south Essex near the Thames. Larvae probably develop in the stems of plants. References
