Species text
Anoplius concinnus is a widespread, but uncommon and infrequent spider-hunting wasp, found in stony habitats such as behind coastal shingle beaches and on stony riversides. In Essex it has only been recorded in very few sites, including two now mostly or completely destroyed by development. All records have been near water and stony or sparsely vegetated substrates. The female will run over wet stones and the exposed banks of streams. Multiple cells are excavated beneath stones and stocked with Lycosidae (wolf spiders). References
