Make a legacy

Your legacy and the Essex Field Club

Since 1880, when the Essex Field Club came into being, we have been at the forefront of recording natural history and geology in Essex. Now we have a new home at the Green Centre in Wat Tyler Country Park, Pitsea, Basildon, we will be able to run open days, exhibitions and workshops with the use of a range of microscopes and equipment to help people learn about identification, ecology and the conservation of different plants and animals and natural history in the county.  We are also working to make our collections and library more accessible to members and the public.

The Field club is in a healthy financial position but our aspirations to increase our activities and access to our collections and library will not happen without additional funds. A generous bequest would enable us to undertake a large number of major projects for the benefit of our members and the public.

At the present time a legacy to a charity such as the EFC may attract relief at 40% from Inheritance Tax which might otherwise be payable on an estate. It is important for all of us to make a will and to keep it reviewed and we would urge anyone who is doing this to bear the Essex Field Club in mind when considering bequests to your favourite causes.

Please contact us if you would like to make a legacy to the Club.
