Wed Jun 29th 2022 8pm till late. Hazeleigh Wood near Maldon
Joint Moth trapping event with Colchester Natural History Society. Meet in car park off Hazeleigh Hall Lane, nearest postcode CM9 6GT. The grid ref TL834038. The site is rather out of the way, so to speak. Just follow the postcode/grid reference details and you will eventually see a sandwich board on the left, about a mile along Hazeleigh Hall Lane that points you in to the car park. This is a private site and a small £2.00 contribution will be due. We must thank the owners Maureen and John Bissell for the invitation to this moth evening in this almost unique working oak and hazel coppice woodland, first mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Please bring your own moth traps and generators if you have them; if not please do come along anyway. By this time, the Small Black Arches should be on the wing at its only site in Eastern England.
Contact: Event is weather dependent. Booking required, contact Simon on simon.wood27@gmail.com
