Middlewick Ranges Local Wildlife Site. To continue fieldwork begun last year at this important site. The meeting place is at the army post on Mersea Road - TM005229. Park in Queen Elizabeth Way opposite.

The site is diverse, with large areas of acid grassland, gorse and broom scrub, and a patch of relict heath. The site is most noted for its Hymenoptera, but the invertebrate and other interest is known to be very high generally.
