Species text
This is a widespread but local predatory beetle recorded in England and Wales. It occcurs on on partially vegetated silt and muddy sand on river banks, lake margins, gravel pits, lowland peat pools, fens and marshes. Management should aim at maintaining open conditions and encouraging early successional stages along pit edges (Hyman & Parsons, 1992). References
