Species text
This small fly with a darkened wing tip has been recorded from scattered locations in a variety of habitats. The species can only be reliably separated by examination of the male genitalia and may have been overlooked, but it appears to be genuinely uncommon. The larvae of this family develop in the stems and middle shoots of grasses, though exact host plants of this species are uncertain. References
