Species text
The status of Oxypoda lurida is uncertain due to taxonomic confusion with O. exoleta, although it is apparently restricted to south-eastern England. It may have increased in frequency in the last twenty or so years, at least in parts of South East England. It is associated with open ground and has been found at the roots of herbage in grassland, coastal shingle, sand and gravel pits, gardens and parkland (Hyman & Parson, 1994). References
