EFC Centre at Wat Tyler Country ParkOur centre is available for visits on a pre-booked basis on Wednesdays between 10am - 4pm. The Club’s activities and displays are also usually open to the public on the first Saturday of the month 11am - 4pm.

locate Rainham Marshes
Formerly a Ministry of Defence firing range, much of the original medieval land-form and marshland wildlife has been preserved and this RSPB reserve is now the largest remaining expanse of wetland bordering the upper reaches of the Thames Estuary.

locate Chafford Hundred Sand Martin Cliff
Sand cliff and adjacent flower rich grassland

locate Swaines Green
Area of four former agriculture fields unused since 1980s, now owned and managed as a nature reserve and Epping Forest buffer land by City of London Conservators and by Epping Town Council. Free public access.

locate Howlands Marsh
Grazing marsh with ditches, saltmarsh, seasonally wet saline areas and a saline lagoon.

locate Wat Tyler Country Park
Dry Thorn Scrub Semi improved and unimproved grassland (Neutral with calc element). Wetlands. (Reedbeds - Open Water - Ponds - Salt Marsh - Salt water Creeks Mudflats).

locate Broaks Wood
Forestry Commission woodland open to the public.

locate Layer Wood
A mainly deciduous wood consisting of Birch, Beech, Hornbeam, Oak, Aspen and a few Sweet Chestnut, Larch and pine's.

locate Jacksons Wood
Remnant ancient woodland close to M25 motorway, unmanaged.
