Currently private with no public access. ------------------------------------------- Summary of geological interest A fine section through the Mucking Gravel, representing the bed of the Thames some 150,000 years ago, can be seen in a disused gravel pit next to Turners Farm on Waltons Hall Road (opposite Waltons Hall Museum). The east face of the pit is about 5 metres high and provides one of the finest vertical sections through Thames Terrace gravel to be seen in the Thames valley. The section could also be easily accessed and studied in safety and is therefore of great educational value.
