Brief description of site:

The Dansand Quarry on the Stanford Road (west of Brentwood Road) currently provides fine exposures of the sands of the Woolwich Beds. They take the form of very steep to almost vertical cliffs on the northern faces which mark the edges of the original quarry. The Woolwich Beds sands are capped by Orsett Heath Gravel in places which adds importance to these sections. These cliffs could be easily retained in any future use of the site.
